We are seeking a qualified and caring person to work as a Mental Health Technician/Direct Support Professional in New Windsor.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Prior experience working with individuals with verbal and physical aggression
  • Protect and honor the rights of people with disabilities
  • Provide training, assistance and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities and significant behavioral challenges and mental health conditions
  • Ability to implement plans and training throughout crisis situations and respond to behaviors utilizing positive behavior supports.
  • Assist individuals served in expanding their opportunities to participate in community life as they choose
  • Assist individuals in learning and maintaining skills, having new life experiences and respond to behaviors utilizing positive behavior supports.
  • Provide training to individuals served in all identified areas and function as part of the interdisciplinary team
  • Ensuring a safe and clean home for people served
  • Develop a positive rapport while serving as a role model to create a safe and caring environment
  • Teach skills to individuals served that increase independence such as eating, cooking and bathing
  • Document data displaying the individual served goals and progression
  • Assist in finding and participating in meaningful community activities
  • Work independent or with co-workers to enhance to growth of individual served
  • Participate in on-going professional training
  • Must be willing to flex schedule according to the needs of the individuals served

Responsibilities Included: 
  • Provide training and support services to people with disabilities referred to Benchmark Human Services for community based employment services.
  • Provide intensive individualized training on specific skills needed to obtain employment and at specific community job sites. .
  • Provide support for individuals in dealing with co-workers and supervisors. Expanding relationships/natural supports on the job.
  • Provide remedial skill training as necessary.
  • Communicate with and educate employers regarding an individual's progress.
  • Communicate regularly with Employment Consultants regarding client performance on jobs.
  • Attend meetings, trainings, and work assignments with clients as scheduled by supervisor and required by program and Benchmark.
  • Track data and keep daily reports of client progress. Turn in progress reports and other information at least weekly to assigned Employment Consultant. Enter time worked with notes into Benchmark data system within 24 hours of activity.
  • Must maintain good attendance throughout employment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all standards to assure the health and safety of all individuals.
  • Report to work as scheduled.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to learn to access email, the Internet, and other computer based programs
  • Communicate through written and verbal communication methods in person, by telephone, and by email.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent and work experience required.
  • Experience with people with disabilities preferred.

We are seeking a qualified and caring person to work as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in Westminster.

Responsibilities Included:

  • Provide overall behavioral supports to clients and staff in the Enhanced Supervision Group Homes, Day Services and larger DDA community as needed. Must be willing to flex schedule according to client's needs.
  • Provide the appropriate amount of hours to be able to bill DDA for Behavioral Consultation, minimum of 24 with a maximum of 40 any billing over 40 would need to be discussed with and approved by the Regional Director. This will include on site (Individual’s home) billable hours as directed by the Regional Director.
  • Provide documentation of the behavioral services provided during the designated hours, this documentation will be placed in provide and will have data/language that allows for billing under Maryland’s Community Pathway Waiver of Behavioral Support Services.
  • Provide direct monitoring, assessment, intervention, and staff training including behavioral supports, proactive strategies, triggers, staff interventions, replacement behaviors, etc.
  • Maintain system for collecting objective data regarding the skills and needs of clients served.
  • Maintain system for collecting program specific information including key data points.
  • Complete functional assessments annually and as needed.
  • Develop BSP’s that meet DDA standards in accordance with COMAR 10.22.10.05 and address each client’s needs.
  • Seek input and maintain effective communication with PCP team and supervisor.
  • Modify BSP annually as needed and create simple one-page summary of BSP. Attend and present all BSP changes to the Standing Committee no less than quarterly.
  • Attend all agency, departmental and client specific meetings as directed.
  • Attend client psychiatric appointments and inpatient psychiatric discharge meetings.
  • Conduct departmental training as directed.
  • Maintain client confidentiality.
  • Must report any suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation to supervisor or department head.
  • Ensure the health and safety of clients we serve.
  • Oversee and develop the RBT program for MD staff, provide ongoing CEU’s for them, assist them in passing certification as needed, provide oversight per regulatory expectations.
  • Complete and develop ongoing competency evaluations for staff, including fidelity checks.
  • Develop the Benchmark Human Services Behavioral Support Services to expand to the greater DD population in Carroll County or other needs identified.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all standards to assure the health and safety of all individuals.
  • Report to work as scheduled.
Qualifications:
  • Masters’ degree in related field.
  • Valid Maryland BCBA license
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Valid auto insurance
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience is preferred but not required
