ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilize the coaching model and natural environment teaching.
  • Participate in Birth to Three sponsored trainings, meetings and learning opportunities as appropriate.
  • Complete Birth to Three Service Coordinator Modules and function as the Service Coordinator as needed.
  • Comply with all standards to assure the health and safety of all staff and individuals we serve.

We cover 41 towns in CT and have over 100 direct service providers! Benchmark is looking for a full-time Developmental Therapist Associate (DTA) candidate in the Branford, Guilford, Meriden, Hamden, Madison, North Haven and Wallingford areas. General Responsibilities: Participates in Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) development and implementation, monitors outcomes as member of team, and provides direct supports to children and families. Under regular supervision by a Developmental Therapist, may function independently. Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop rapport with children, families, and team members to promote a healthy learning environment.

  • Complete Birth to Three Service Coordinator Modules and function as the Service Coordinator as needed.

In addition, the Team Leader will carry a caseload providing services for families enrolled in Benchmark’s Birth to Three Program. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Comply with all Federal and State regulations, including those outlined in the Connecticut Birth to Three Program Regulations.
  • Develop rapport with children, families, and team members to promote a positive learning environment.
  • Maintain consistent communication with team members and support staff in implementing best practices, following Birth to Three guidelines and procedures.
  • Utilize coaching as a style of interaction and foster collaborative practices among team members.
  • Foster harmonious working relationships with and amongst team members.
  • Provide research-based strategies and literature to support families and team members.
  • Assist in training new staff by offering opportunities for shadowing and scheduling observation opportunities with team members.
  • Coordinate and facilitate twice-monthly team meetings.
  • Produce team meeting agenda prior to each meeting, and track cases discussed.
