Camp Red Cedar boasts 57 acres of woods, meadows, trails, a 10-acre lake and sandy beach.  Each year the camp serves hundreds of children and adults through inclusive summer camps, recreational therapy and riding programs, and community events.

Camp Red Cedar is looking for an Event Host to work as needed on nights and weekends. The Lodge Event Host serves as the main point of contact for renter and vendors during events at The Lodge at Camp Red Cedar, while ensuring that all Lodge guidelines are adhered to by all parties. Event hosts manage the event and tend to any facility or renter needs as they arise.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greets renter and vendors as they arrive and briefly review venue expectations.
  • Work directly with customers, vendors, and guests on event day to address venue-related questions or concerns to ensure customer satisfaction and prompt problem resolution.
  • Provide high-quality customer service to program and event participants, and the general public.
  • Tend to facility needs. This includes, but is not limited to, lighting the fireplace, adjusting the overhead lighting, turning fans on and/or off, opening overhead garage doors upon request, and adjusting the thermostat.
  • Perform hourly facility checks, empty the trash and recycle, and restock/clean bathrooms as needed.
  • Responsible for ensuring that customer adheres to the rules and regulations of the rental agreement and enforces CRC/The Lodge rules.
  • Oversee post-event cleanup/teardown efforts, if applicable, to ensure venue cleanliness.
  • Complete the post-event checklist to ensure the facility is in order, the alarm is engaged, and the building is secured.
  • Lock main gate upon leaving.
  • Communicates promptly with Lodge Coordinator about rental needs or problems.
  • Continually innovate and streamline processes and procedures.
  • Maintain employment-required documentation.
  • All work duties and activities must be performed following local safety rules and operating regulations, policies, and procedures as well as federal, state, and local regulations

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods.
  • Strong attention to detail, a positive attitude, and a team player.
  • Ability to operate within a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Capable of handling various responsibilities simultaneously while operating independently.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 1 to 3 months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
  • Valid Indiana Driver’s License.
  • Certified in First Aid/CPR, which can be completed after employment.
