Benchmark is a national leader in providing programs to individuals with disabilities and behavioral health needs. The Fort Wayne office is seeking qualified and caring people to work as a Team Lead. This individual will be responsible for providing employment support and assistance in a work center environment to those with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Successful applicants will attend paid training to obtain required certifications. WORK SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday (no weekends or holidays) 7:15am - 3:15pm. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Team Lead carries a caseload of approximately 10 individuals they are responsible for supporting each day
  • Part of the Team Lead role centers around providing direct care and involves tasks such as:
    • provide assistance, when needed, walking/escorting clients to and from the front of the building to their seat during arrival, departure and lunch
    • assist clients in the restroom when needed
    • provide supervision in the cafeteria during mealtimes to help ensure clients are safe
    • working with clients on their client centered goals and tracking progress toward completion and documentation on each client
  • The other part of the Team Lead role centers around Production including:
    • overseeing production of a job
    • helping train new clients and other employees on the production job
    • teaching, coaching and thinking through different ways to train so the client better understands the job
    • making sure the quality of the work being produced meets customer standards
    • ensure orders are completed on time
    • addressing any concerns relating to orders
  • Supervise daily individual behavior and report findings.
  • Oversee assigned production
  • Supply assigned individuals with necessary work tools, supplies, and operator work instructions.
  • Assign work tasks to individuals base on their skills and abilities driven by customer production needs.
  • Instruct individuals/groups through modeling positive work behaviors, acceptable work performance, positive attitudes and work relationships, etc.
  • Instruct individuals regarding use of hand tools, equipment, organization of work, safety, etc.
  • Participate in regular production meetings held by work center management team.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of the Production Manager, the Production Assistant will perform material handling duties in support of the production operators. In addition, the supervisor may assign specific quality control/inspection duties relating to the industrial services being performed. The position may also assist with production operations in order to stabilize production flow sources. The Production Assistant will assist the Production Manager or Training Supervisors in the development of fixtures to assist in production operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help maintain good production flow through the workshop to meet customer requirements on a timely basis
  • Operate forklift to move materials and load trucks.
  • Perform material handling duties to include but not limit to:
    • Wrapping of pallets
    • Packaging of finished goods

    • Labeling of cases/pallets

    • Inventory of materials and finished goods

    •  Reorganizing materials for production
  • Work with Training Supervisors in job set-ups and client training as needed.
  • Assist Production Manager/Training Supervisor staff in the development of fixtures for uses on the production floor.
  • Organize and maintain a housekeeping program on the production floor (raw materials, work in process and finished goods).
  • Maintain and respond to a general awareness of safety in the work area.
  • Assist with client service needs as requested.
  • Reasonable suspicion of a crime against an ICF/MR resident must be reported to Indiana State Department of Health and Law Enforcement (Elder Justice Act).
  • Report any suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation immediately to supervisor or department head.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all standards to assure the health and safety of all individuals.
  • Report to work as scheduled.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision ("self starter").
  • Must be able to perform inventory counting and recording.

Highway Safety Specialist Team Leader

Wage: $16.00/hour Hours: 7:30a-4:00p, M-F

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure the completion of orders and quality of production for the Highway Safety Specialists business within the AWRC Industrial Operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure all of HSS products are produced to current specifications and standards
  • Complete all orders within the given time
  • Train HSS Production Assistants to HSS standards
  • Become knowledgeable about products offered by the Highway Safety Department in order to assist with customer question as needed.
  • Back up HSS Driver to make deliveries when needed.
  • Maintain proper inventory thresholds set by HSS Manager and report if ordering of materials is needed
  • Maintain 100% accountability of all loose tools and equipment utilized in HSS to include all safety precautions required
  • Report any equipment or safety issues to HSS Manager and immediately stop production if safety risks present themselves
  • Manage daily operations and all personnel operating within HSS and report out day end results per HSS Manager’s direction
  • Stay current on all individuals PCISP, risk plans, and behavior plans.
  • Assign work tasks to individuals based on their skills and abilities driven by customer production needs. Instruct individuals regarding use of hand tools, equipment, organization of work, safety, etc.
  • Instruct/teach individuals through the use of modeling positive work behaviors, acceptable work performance, positive work attitudes, work relationships, etc.
  • Participate in trainings/production meetings with Director, Program Coordinator or designee.
  • Complies with all OSHA standards to assure the health & safety of all employees and visitors.
  • Report the following: any reasonable suspicion of a crime against an ICF/MR resident must be reported to Indiana State Department of Health and Law Enforcement (Elder Justice Act) and any suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation immediately to supervisor or department head
