Benchmark is a national leader in providing programs to individuals with disabilities and mental illness. The Santa Fe office is seeking a qualified and caring person to work as a Medical Assistant. Successful applicants will attend paid training to obtain required certifications. Schedule: Wednesday 3pm-7pm, and Thursday through Saturday 7am-7pm Responsibilities Include:
  • Monitor compliance with the medication and health services policies and procedures
  • Monitor safety of individuals served with special emphasis to the tracking and prevention of medication errors
  • Support people being served to identify any questions or concerns they may have regarding their medical care, appointments, medications, etc.
  • ‘Person-directed’ is the approach to use in any interactions with guardians and consumer’s and team members
  • Interact with individuals in an emotionally supportive and therapeutic manner, and practice effective techniques for reinforcing appropriate individual behavior
  • Maintain medical files and assist the nurses with distribution of any updated information for the ‘home’ medical file
  • Maintain the inventory of medical and nursing forms, and order supplies as necessary
  • Assist with data entry as needed
  • Assist with medical appointment scheduling
  • Initiate the required medical forms to document appointments
  • Medication Administration as needed. Site-rounds to houses to verify medication compliance of the AWM staff

Qualifications:
  • Valid Driver’s License and Auto Insurance required
  • College education preferred with a minimum of 2 years’ experience preferably in the field of medical or services to developmental disabilities
  • Medical Assistant License preferred

Description:
Benchmark Human Services is a national leader in providing programs to individuals with disabilities and mental illness. The Santa Fe office is seeking a qualified and caring person to work as an Office Finance Specialist who is responsible for establishing, reconciling, and maintaining consumer financial accounts. Responsibilities Include:
  • Act as liaison with the bank to establish accounts, close accounts, and initiate any signer changes as needed
  • Assist in the development of individual monthly budgets for consumers
  • Complete Representative Payee paperwork for new consumers and work with Social Security to return funds for consumers we no longer serve as payee
  • Adhere to established budgets to assure fund availability for paying bills and purchasing necessities
  • Monitor client accounts to ensure balances remain at required levels determined by Medicaid and Social Security, so they remain eligible for benefits
  • Ensure all individual bills are set up to be routed to the main office for timely receipt
  • Maintain a daily accounting of consumer accounts in the Provide system
  • Collect receipts and food stamp ledgers for inclusion in monthly financial packets from responsible supervisory staff
  • Organize all end- of-the-month consumer financial records (receipts, bank statements, etc.), and reconcile each account prior to turning in packets to compliance department for audit
  • Provide copies of reconciled accounts to responsible supervisory staff, for placement in home files, and for guardian review
  • Perform general office or administrative duties as assigned

  • Provide support for individuals in dealing with co-workers and supervisors
  • Communicate with and education employers regarding an individual’s progress
  • Develop a Positive rapport while serving as a role model to create a safe and caring environment
  • Teach skills to individuals served that increase independence such as eating, cooking, and bathing
  • Document data displaying the individual served goals and progression
  • Assist in finding and participating in meaningful community activities
  • Work independent or with co-workers to enhance the growth of individuals served
  • Participate in on-going professional training
  • Will help research and development to obtain employment for individuals served
