Description:
Benchmark Human Services, a national leader committed to providing quality services to individuals with disabilities, is hiring! We are actively seeking an Infant and Toddler Developmental Specialist to serve South Miami. Ideal candidates will be eager to provide clinic-based early intervention evaluation services to infants and toddlers who are at risk for developmental disabilities as part of the Florida Early Steps Program. This is a full time position.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops joint plan with family and recommends strategies utilizing evidence based practices and following the Natural Learning Environment Practices
  • Implements IFSP for enrolled families and recommends frequency of services based on child development status and family priorities and concerns
  • Assessment of children’s developmental needs for individualized planning
  • Provides families with information, skills and support related to enhancing their child’s development
  • Includes direct activities with the child designed to enhance the child’s development in one or more domains, including: cognition, adaptive functions, social/emotional skills, physical development and communication
  • Promotes activities in the “natural setting” to enhance implementation of the IFSP
  • Completes necessary documentation to facilitate reimbursement through primary funding sources
  • Attends mandatory in-service training sessions and monthly team meetings
  • Comply with all standards to assure the health and safety of all staff and clients we serve
  • Comply with all Federal and State regulations

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in early childhood education or early childhood/special education, child and family development, family life specialist, or communication sciences
  • Documentation of at least one year of post-degree professional experience in early intervention
  • Knowledgeable of infant and toddler development
  • Candidates for employment are required to pass drug screening

Description:

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist with Early Steps administrative, operational, and record keeping requirements.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist Program Director with managing the day-to-day administrative functions of the office: customer contact, phone, email, mail, filing, document preparation, data entry.
  • Knowledgeable about the Early Steps process in order that they can respond to general questions from the public in a timely manner.
  • Utilize the program’s web based tools.
  • Accept and process program referrals and make assignments to the Service Coordinator and the early intervention team.
  • Assist service coordinators with data entry related items and filing.
  • Able to meet timelines and deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and customers to ensure all needs are met.
  • Comply with all standards to assure the health and safety of all staff and clients we serve.
  • Shared service coordination duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bilingual
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft office applications.
