Benchmark Human Services is now developing a Supported Living program for adults with developmental disabilities in the Dover, Delaware area. Benchmark has been providing human services for over 60 years and is now operating in 16 states nationwide.  We are looking for an experience HR professional to fill out our administrative team. Essential Functions:

  1. Client Finances:
    1. Complete Monthly Financial Packets and Ledgers in Benchmark Human Services Intranet and Provide.
    2. Pay client bills as needed.
    3. Oversee and manage Cash on Hand
    4. Banking in person as needed
    5. Maintain benefits, Social Security, etc.
  1. Program/Office Oversight
    1. Schedule maintenance for Delaware fleet
    2. Schedule maintenance for the GH’s as needed.
  1. Administrative Assistant Duties
    1. Answer Phones
    2. Ensure supplies current
    3. Complete reports as requested
    4. Complete ROTC mailings (birthdays, anniversaries)
    5. Maintaining Client records (filing, purging, etc.)
    6. Oversee and ensure Emergency Preparedness.
  2. Human Resources
    1. Conduct Interviews and makes employment decisions or recommendations to hiring manager based on the results of the interview
    2. Conduct all needed background checks and completes new hire paperwork.
    3. Makes final hiring decision or recommendation to hiring manger based on the results of the background check(s)
    4. Conduct new employee orientation and other trainings as assigned
    5. Maintain employee files
    6. Ensure trainings are completed per DDDS regulations and Benchmark policies.
    7. Input Individual Specific Training Checklist, Hub trainings and any other training into Provide for reports.
    8. Assist in completing investigations related to employment issues
    9. Comply with all standards to assure the health and safety of all individuals.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  1. Knowledge of people with developmental disabilities is preferred
  2. Excellent computer skills
  3. Possesses the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers at all levels
  4. Ability to work with little supervision
  5. Ability to make independent decisions regarding hiring, client banking, and maintenance of vehicles and homes
  6. Possesses the skill and knowledge to make independent decisions relevant to employment decisions, office safety and emergency preparedness

 

Qualifications

  1. Valid DE driver’s license and valid auto insurance
  2. High school diploma/GED; Associate degree in business preferred
  3. One year experience in administrative office duties required
  4. Criminal background clearance
