GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:   

Coordinate and manage the day-to-day operation of Day Services. Supervise, support, and train DSP’s. Ensure quality and the facilitation of a meaningful day for the clients.  Supervise the Day Program Activities Coordinator.

Essential Functions

  • Supervise, train, and provide guidance to the staff in accordance with state, federal regulations, and Benchmark personnel policies.
  • Participate in direct service for each client as needed.
  • Complete daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly documentation as required by Benchmark, state, and federal regulations.
  • Communicate professionally with families, case managers, behavior consultants, health care personnel, other agencies, employers, etc.
  • Implement training programs as specified in each client’s ISP.
  • Implement and update curriculum as needed to fit the needs of clients served.
  • Comply with and implements all protocols for individuals
  • Ensure proper medication/treatment administration and assists in meeting the client’s healthcare needs.
  • Identify and address any disciplinary issues with DSP’s.
  • Collaborate with Program Coordinator Day Services in interviewing and selecting new DSP’s.
  • Plan and implements facility based, age appropriate, recreational activities for clients.
  • Implement required training protocol for new and existing staff.
  • Report any suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation or reasonable suspicion of a crime against any individual served to supervisor
  • Maintain certification in medication administration, CPR/FA, and MANDT.
  • Monitor staff and client schedules on a daily basis to ensure productivity of DSP’s is at acceptable levels.
  • Attend all scheduled trainings including but not limited to interviewing, hiring, discipline, and employee relations.
  • Approve schedules and time entry.
  • Assists with meet and greets for growing the Day Program.
  • Ensures the Day Program Best Practices is handled by ensuring the Activities Coordinator has a Monthly Council Meeting and meaningful activities.
  • Assists the Activities Coordinator in ensuing vehicles are in good working order and that van routes make sense.
  • Will perform all duties necessary to meet state approved objectives
  • Complies with all standards to assure the health, safety and respect of all individuals.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Functional knowledge of basic computer skills.
  • Ability to multitask and handle detail.
  • Ability to interact with staff, clients and the public in a positive manner

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Two years’ experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
  • A minimum of 1 – year supervisor experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance
