Our Fort Wayne, IN corporate office is looking to add an Accounting and Tax Manager to our team! Join Benchmark to expand and make a difference in various states and markets.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for preparing and submitting payroll and employment taxes as well as assisting external Tax Preparer on corporate tax preparation.
- Supervising accounting staff, implementing and maintaining high level of controls and procedures, providing accurate financial data in the agency’s strategic planning process.
- Maintain the financial records of the agency in compliance with accepted Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and requirements of Local, State, and Federal funding sources.
- Assist in planning and promoting the agencies long-term growth and financial stability.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare Tax payments
- Estimate and track tax returns
- Complete quarterly and annual tax reports
- Organize and update the company’s tax database
- Prepare necessary paperwork for tax payments and returns
- Communicate with external auditors
- Supervise and develop accounting staff
- Boost innovation and streamline accounting processes
- Evaluate accounting staff as required
- Special assignments assigned by controller or CFO
- Comply with all standards to assure the health and safety of all individuals.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Proven work experience with tax and general accounting
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Computer literacy
- Analytical and time management skills
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in tax and general accounting
- Requires a minimum of two (2) experience managing or supervising
