Benchmark Human Services is hiring immediately! Benchmark is a national leader in providing programs to individuals with disabilities and mental illness. The North Vernon, IN Day Services program is hiring Direct Support Professionals. Successful applicants will attend paid orientation and training. No experience is necessary! The work schedule is Monday – Friday, day shift (NO weekend shifts, NO night shifts, NO holiday shifts).  Have fun out in the community with members of our Day Program!

Now offering an enhanced sign on bonus of $1,000 for FT and $500 for PT DSPs working in our various IN programs for a limited time. Bonus will be paid in a lump sum, not installments. Also, offering an enhanced referral bonus during this time.

All training provided, must be comfortable with driving a 15 passenger or wheelchair lift van and also changing attends.

General Responsibilities:

  • Protect and honor the rights of individuals served
  • Assist individuals with daily living skills
  • Assist with personal care needs, such as toileting, eating, mobility, etc.
  • Develop a positive rapport while serving as a role model to create a safe and caring environment
  • Administer medication and assist with other medical needs
  • Document data regarding the individual served
  • Assist in finding and participating in meaningful community activities
  • Work independent or with co-workers to meet the needs of the individuals served
  • Communicate effectively with others
  • Assist with physical activities

General Qualifications:

  • Reliable transportation
  • Auto insurance and driver’s license
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
