Tacey Dunwoody has 14 years of experience working in Case Management. She holds a bachelor’s degree in human services, with a minor in sociology from Black Hills State University. Dunwoody served as a Case Manager, SPED Director, Admissions Coordinator, Outreach Program Director, and Human Rights/Positive Support Committee Chair for Northern Hills Training Center in Spearfish, South Dakota before joining Benchmark. She is a certified Person Centered Thinking Coach, and is Crisis Prevention Intervention certified.

Jamie Folk has worked with people with disabilities in South Dakota, North Dakota, and Minnesota for over 25 years, and has held a variety of positions including direct support professional, case manager, and program counselor. She has over 15 years of case management experience. Most recently, she worked for New Horizons as the Project Skills Coordinator, supervising eight job coaches and working with teenagers and young adults to help them explore community employment and build knowledge in transitional life skills. Jamie was the 2014 recipient of the Watertown’s Mayor Award for providing Outstanding Transitional Services. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Mary, Bismarck, ND. She is a 2011 Partners in Policymaking graduate and has been involved in People First and South Dakota Advocates for Change.

Jordi Gauer has been working in human services since 2009 and has held many different positions, including Residential Shift Coordinator and Unit Health Coordinator at New Beginnings Center. Most recently, she served as a Youth Counselor and Case Manager at the South Dakota Developmental Center. Jordi has a bachelor’s degree in Sociology (emphasis in human services) and Spanish from South Dakota State University. She has had extensive training in Person Centered Thinking and is certified in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention.


Brittany Kamm

Brittany Kamm has two years of experience in case management, working as a service coordinator for Aspire, Inc. Prior to that, she spent six years working as a Direct Support Professional in a supervised apartment building.  Kamm holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Northern State University, and is currently finishing her master’s degree in Long Term Care Administration at the University of South Dakota.

Kathy Quinn comes to Benchmark with over 10 years of case management experience. She graduated from Augustana University with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. In addition to her work in the classroom, including special education classrooms, she was the Community Placement Coordinator at Northern Hills Training Center. Kathy also provided case management services to elderly and disabled adults through the South Dakota Department of Social Services. Recently, Kathy was the case manager at Northern Hills CASA. She states she is excited to work for Benchmark, so she can help her clients achieve their goals and highest level of independence.

Dorianne Schmidt has 22 years of experience in the healthcare field. She worked as a CNA assisting the elderly with patient care before joining Lifescape, where she worked with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities as a Direct Support Professional for five years in residential and the remaining 10.5 in Supported Living with two years as a case manager. She is Person Centered trained, CPI trained, and knows basic sign language. Dorianne is a strong believer in advocating for people’s needs and encouraging their rights.


Sue Sutton

Sue Sutton has nearly six years of experience in Case Management with New Horizons, Watertown, South Dakota. She began her career with New Horizons as a Direct Support Professional before taking on dual roles as Case Manager and Direct Support Coordinator, supervising eight staff in an apartment setting for 16 residents. Sutton holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and minor in Sociology from South Dakota State University.  She is a 2014 graduate of Partners in Policymaking.
