Benchmark is a national leader in providing programs to individuals with disabilities and behavior health challenges.  Our small residential group homes in Helena are seeking people to work as a Direct Support Professionals. In Missoula we are looking for part time, hours vary.  Part or full time all shifts available (8am-4pm, 4p-12am, 12am -8am). Successful applicants will attend paid training to obtain required certifications. No experience is necessary, learn on-the-job. Responsibilities Include:
  • Protect and honor the rights of people with disabilities
  • Ensuring a safe and clean home for people served
  • Develop a positive rapport while serving as a role model to create a safe and caring environment
  • Teach skills to individuals served that increase independence such as eating, cooking and bathing
  • Document data displaying the individual served goals and progression
  • Assist in finding and participating in meaningful community activities
  • Work independent or with co-workers to enhance the growth of individuals served
  • Participate in on-going professional training

Description:
Benchmark Human Services, a national leader committed to providing quality services to individuals with disabilities, is hiring! We are actively seeking applicants for a variety of therapeutic positions including a Family Support Specialist in our Browning and Cutbank, MT locations. Ideal candidates will be licensed in their chosen profession and will be eager to provide home-based early intervention therapy services to infants and toddlers who are at risk for developmental disabilities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develops joint plan with family and recommends strategies utilizing evidence based practices and following the Natural Learning Environment Practices
  • Implements IFSP for enrolled families and recommends frequency of services based on child development status and family priorities and concerns
  • Assessment of children’s developmental needs for individualized planning
  • Provides families with information, skills and support related to enhancing their child’s development
  • Includes direct activities with the child designed to enhance the child’s development in one or more domains, including: cognition, adaptive functions, social/emotional skills, physical development and communication
  • Adaption of the environment to meet child/family needs in play, language and communication development.
  • Promotes activities in the “natural setting” to enhance implementation of the IFSP
  • Completes necessary documentation to facilitate reimbursement through primary funding sources
  • Attends mandatory in-service training sessions and monthly team meetings
  • Comply with all standards to assure the health and safety of all staff and clients we serve
  • Comply with all Federal and State regulations

General Qualifications:
  • 1. Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in one of the following: Early Childhood Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child/Human Development, Social Work, Public Health, Sociology, Nursing, Psychology or other State approved degree.
  • 2. Meet provider enrollment qualifications for a Family Support Specialist.
  • 3. Demonstrate leadership qualities, ability to work as part of a team, and effective communication skills.
