RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Lodge Event Host serves as the main point of contact for renter and vendors during events at The Lodge at Camp Red Cedar, while ensuring that all Lodge guidelines are adhered to by all parties. Event hosts manage the event and tend to any facility or renter needs as they arise. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Greets renter and vendors as they arrive and briefly review venue expectations.
  • Work directly with customers, vendors, and guests on event day to address venue-related questions or concerns to ensure customer satisfaction and prompt problem resolution.
  • Provide high-quality customer service to program and event participants, and the general public.

Seasonal Full-time Schedule: May 20th - August 16th, weekdays
Pay: $400/week
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Follow and enforce all swimming area rules and policies in a positive manner.
  • Ensure that the gates to the swimming area are closed during beach activities.
  • Complete and submit swimming sheets to the Field Supervisor for each camper.
  • Assume responsibility for, and plan for, group and individual swimming lessons as directed.
  • Perform lifeguarding duties as assigned for swimming and boat area during morning and afternoon free times, lake parties, and special events and activities as scheduled.
  • Deal with emergency situations with dispatch and management plan in a professional, calm manner.
  • Facilitate organization of buddy checks every 15 minutes.
  • Act in a supervisory capacity at the swimming area over all other counselors, volunteers, and campers.
  • Assist with waterfront area maintenance and provide care to lifeguarding equipment. Complete maintenance reports as needed.
  • Assist with beach games, relays, races, etc.

  • Be familiar with all emergency procedures and participate in monthly drills.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists with maintenance for Benchmark Human Services-owned properties as directed by landscape manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Cut lawn using hand, power or riding mower and trim and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls.
  • Landscape by planting flowers, grass, shrubs, and bushes.
  • Apply fertilizer to ground to enhance growth.
  • Shovel snow from walkways and apply snow melting product.
  • Cut down tree limbs that are posing a danger.
  • Trim shrubs and pull weeds.
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in grounds keeping.
  • Report any suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation immediately to supervisor or department head.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all standards to assure the health and safety of all individuals.
  • Report to work as scheduled.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Must have ability to perform physical work required.
  • Must be able to tolerate heat and cold conditions
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Valid Indiana driver's license.
  • Experience in landscape maintenance preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities:
