We are actively seeking applicants for a variety of therapeutic positions including Speech Language Pathologists to serve our Connecticut locations. Ideal candidates will be licensed in their chosen profession and will be eager to provide home-based early intervention therapy services to infants and toddlers who are at risk for developmental disabilities as part of the Birth to Three Program.

This position address functional needs of the child in various developmental domains, particularly related to speech and language development. Work involves developmental screening/ assessment, speech therapy, and consultation with family members and other professionals working with the family.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops joint plan with family and recommends strategies utilizing evidence based practices and following the Natural Learning Environment Practices
  • Implements IFSP for enrolled families and recommends frequency of services based on child development status and family priorities and concerns
  • Assessment of children’s developmental needs for individualized planning
  • Provides families with information, skills and support related to enhancing their child’s development
  • Includes direct activities with the child designed to enhance the child’s development in one or more domains, including: cognition, adaptive functions, social/emotional skills, physical development and communication
  • Adaption of the environment to meet child/family needs in play, language and communication development.
  • Promotes activities in the “natural setting” to enhance implementation of the IFSP
  • Completes necessary documentation to facilitate reimbursement through primary funding sources
  • Attends mandatory in-service training sessions and monthly team meetings

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Driver’s License

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide direct behavioral supports to children in the CT Birth to Three Program. Provides direct services with a billable caseload as assigned. Must be willing to flex schedule according to the child’s/family needs.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Comply with all Federal and State regulations, including those outlined in the Connecticut Birth to Three Program Regulations.

  • Participate in the IFSP development and implementation.

  • Monitor child outcomes as a member of the transdisciplinary team.

  • Provide early intervention supports to families for the benefit of the child.

  • Provides data and input as needed.

  • May update Curriculum-based tool with family as of Early Intervention Treatment Services.

  • Actively participate in early intervention related committees/workgroups.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Connecticut driver's license.

  • Bachelor Degree in behavior analysis or in psychology, specific education or another human service discipline with an emphasis in behavior analysis.

  • Certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, Inc. or the state of Connecticut.

  • Two years’ experience working with infants and toddlers.

Description:

The team coordinator will provide direct and indirect services to support families and team members in Benchmark’s Autism Birth to Three Program. The Team Coordinator will be responsible for providing training as needed, writing short term goals and objectives based on family priorities and curriculum based assessment (Early Start Denver Model). In addition, Team Coordinators will monitor children’s progress, review data collection, and evaluate the course of treatment to ensure successful outcomes.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

To ensure Birth to Three evaluations are efficiently scheduled. To ensure the evaluation schedules are maintained accurately and communication is effective with all individuals involved in the evaluation process.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBIITIES:

  • Accept and process program referrals and make assignments to the early intervention team.
  • Receive, process, and disseminate evaluation team related information.

Description:
Act as the Program Director and manage all operational functions of Benchmark’s general early intervention (EI) and autism services in Connecticut. Must be willing to flex schedule accordingly to provide services and training and be present to provide supervision to staff. Ensure clinical staff is providing ethical and best-practice services to individuals and families. Participate in marketing, community outreach, and training regarding EI services on an ongoing basis. Facilitate program development through recruitment, retention, staff training, responsiveness to families, and the State of Connecticut Birth to Three Lead Agency. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBIITIES:

  • Direct the day to day business operations of the Department. 
  • Coordinate with the Regional Director to ensure sufficient staff is available to meet service demand and hiring of early intervention staff.
